Official website of Stefan Stanciu, a Finnish pan flutist, composer and music educator based in Helsinki. The pan flute is his primary instrument, and his work spans classical, sacred, film, light and folk music as well as electronic and ambient soundscapes.
He has released more than ten solo albums and appeared on television and radio programmes and on concert stages across Europe and Asia, performing as a soloist with chamber ensembles, wind orchestras and symphony orchestras.
Hundreds of concerts across Europe and Asia as a soloist with symphony and chamber orchestras, in church acoustics with organ, and in duo settings. Outside Finland he has performed in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Czechia, Spain, the Netherlands, Austria, Latvia, Switzerland, Estonia, France, Taiwan, South Korea and Singapore.
A member of the Society of Finnish Composers since 2025, Stefan Stanciu writes original works for symphony orchestra, wind orchestra, wind quintet, string quartet, mixed choir, solo instruments and of course pan flute. His style blends neoromanticism, neoclassicism and twentieth-century national modernism.
He has taught pan flute and oboe for more than twenty years at Finnish music institutes and universities, and has led masterclasses for beginners and advanced players since 2006. His published method books and free lesson materials are collected in the Learn Pan Flute section.
